What is worse? Spending on health now, or risking hospital later?

Cancer sufferers have more to concern themselves than the disease itself.

A report just out describes what happened to a Sydney man admitted for cancer surgery.

An investigation is underway after a cancer patient had the wrong side of his bowel removed at Sydney's Northern Beaches Hospital last week.

Some people suggest that I spend too much on maintaining my health. I disagree strongly. Another example: a local vegan friend of mine describes in great detail the lengths and strategies he had to go through to rid himself of his latest bout of influenza.

Since taking up alkaline diet and lifestyle just under 20 years ago I've never had the flu. neither has Cassie. The only cold I ever had was when I was overseas and unable to continue my usual alkaline regimen. Er.. does this tell you something about the comparison between health now and hospital then?
